Summary
CDN’s Secretary to the Board Induction workshop is designed to support new college secretaries in their role.
Each workshop will consist of 2 x 2 hour online sessions and participants need to attend both to complete the full induction.
The Secretary to the Board Induction Workshop will provide board secretaries understand their role and the support available to them through CDN and partners. This includes understanding the Code of Good Governance, an overview of the Governance Hub, the benefits of connecting with other board secretaries in Scotland through our JISC mail facility and joining the Secretary to the Board Steering Group.
The sessions will also cover the importance of diversity within college governance and college boards, and you will have the opportunity to hear from an experienced board secretary on good practice within the role.
Who should attend
The Secretary to the Board Induction Workshop is designed specifically for new college board secretaries to develop their understanding of governance in the college sector, and the role and responsibilities of a board secretary.
