Every adult in Scotland has a role in ensuring all our children, young people and vulnerable adults are safe and protected from harm at all times and in all situations. Lecturers and college staff have to be aware of professional roles and responsibilities in keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe and well. There may be a time when a child, young person or vulnerable adult approaches a trusted member of staff in college to discuss their circumstances outside the immediate learning environment and it is vital that individual adults in college know how to react to this in a sensitive, appropriate and proportionate manner.
